The Sewdish Academy of Sciences awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Science, or to use it correct title The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel

Was awarded today to Dr. Paul Krugman of Princeton University.

for his analysis of trade patterns and location of economic activity.

Congratulations to Dr. Krugman!

Congratulations to Krugman. Looks like liberal economists are beginning to win the prize now. In the recent past, University of Chicago economists and their followers have dominated the prize. This may signal a world wide political change toward more progressive politics.

Great news for Democrats and liberals. As the AP says (emphasis mine):

Paul Krugman, the Princeton University scholar, New York Times columnist and unabashed liberal, won the Nobel prize in economics Monday for his analysis of how economies of scale can affect international trade patterns.
