Love it.  "Swish" is likely to be my new response to troll diaries.

Oh thank you God! (2.00 / 1)

How did the world exist before Obama the Great descended upon us?

Israelis prefer Obama (2.00 / 1)

I found this pretty interesting:

Even more positive news from Barack Obama's trip to the Middle East: a new poll by Israel Radio shows, for perhaps the first time, Israelis preferring Obama to John McCain.

When asked "who would you rather see elected as the next president of the United States," Obama bested John McCain by a 37-28 margin. While far from a decisive advantage -- 35 percent of Israelis chose "no preference" or some other answer -- the poll reflects a notably different state of affairs from previous surveys, which generally showed McCain with a large advantage over Obama.

Obama's competitiveness spanned the political spectrum across Israel's top three parties. The Illinois Democrat trounced McCain among Israel's most liberal voters, who belong to the Labor Party (44-6), tied among more right-wing Likud voters (28-28), and held a slight edge among sympathizers of the Kadima Party, which is led by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (40-32).

VP madness. (none / 0)

In MN, people are going insane over our whether our Governor is going to be McCain's VP.

I say that if the unthinkable happened and McCain won, at least we'd get rid of Tim Pawlenty.

Re: VP madness. (2.00 / 1)

Politically speaking, it would be pretty foolhardy of McCain to pick a Veep who abandoned the Catholic church.

"In MN, people are going insane over our whether our Governor is going to be McCain's VP."

I'm not hearing much about it.

And anyways, it works for me.  John McCain is foundering and he needs to hit a home run with his running mate selection.

Pawlenty?  Well, he hasn't performed any exorcisms, so he's got that going for him.  Not sure quite what else he's got going for him, though ...

Katrina Vander Heuval asking Obama to (none / 0)

rethink his Afghanistan strategy. She is quoting Zbigniew Brzezinski on falling into the Soviet trap in Afghanistan.

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/edcut/338 364

Unfortunately she is quoting the creator of Islamic mujaheddin movement in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I don't think she understands that along with the development strategy that she is suggesting, we need atleast 2-3 brigades as suggested by Obama to pick up the slack that is being felt by the troops there because of lack of serious engagement from NATO partners.
